Meaning: someone is trying hard to be good to go to heaven but they just keep making the wrong choices/decisions.  Techniques Mise en scene High and low key lighting- close up of her face- 2 sides to her- good and bad, 2 sides to life- rich and poor etc. Red lighting on the girls face suggests she is either in love or in a dangerous situation- as this is about making mistakes it is more likely to be the latter. High key lighting - bright sun when she is outside dras attention to her (typical of mainstream to focus on artist). Colours- black clothing, white hair- mix of emotions which are opposite, good and bad. Dull, bleak colours- not really any bright colours- could show life on the streets, poverty. Woman in a red dress contrast to dull colours of people in poverty- possibly rich.  Proxemics- off the left side of the frame- she is not the centre of attention- it is about the other...

Radiohead

History of Radiohead Started in 1985 when the five members met each other at Abingdon School in Oxfordshire. Members: Thom Yorke, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood, Philip Selway, Jonny Greenwood (younger brother). They are originally called On a Friday. After uni they recorded a series of demo tapes e.g. Manic Hedgehog which caught the attention of EMI in 1991 during the grunge fever wave. EMI signed the group to a six-album deal but wanted them to change their name. 1992- they became Radiohead which was named after a Talking Heads song that appeared on that band's album Trues Stories. 1992- debut EP Drill was released - features 4 songs, 3 which appears on the debut album Pablo Honey in 1993. Pablo Honey featured the smash hit "Creep", which remains their most lasting and successful single. Trumpton 1960s children's television series First shown on the BBC in 1967 The second series in the Trumptonshire trilogy (Camberwick Green, Trumpton, Chigley). Created using stop motion animation (pictures following each other) and actual 3D scaled down models. Features of the episodes: Starts with the same sequence of a clock. Trivial issues in a small town e.g. squeaky floorboard. Uses a voiceover for narration. Whilst doing the jobs, they are singing. Purpose: raise awareness about Europe's refugee crisis and the "blaming of different people... the blaming of muslims and the negativity." Info: A man is given a tour of the picture-perfect town but their contains acts of creepy and disturbing violence. Message of The Wickerman: "There's terror beneath the bird song and sipped tea of quaint, quiet village life." Techniques Mise en scene  High key lighting to low key lighting- bird singing- change in town's appearance and mood- innocence to violence. Colours- red clothing, blood, phone box, paint, fire- danger/death. Purple/pink sky at the end- uneasy, ambiguity. Bright colours (yellow, red, blue) in comparison to the inspector's black suit and dull grey car. Red x's written on the door- illness or death. What does a record label do? Essentially a brand or trademark Responsible for production, manufacture, distribution, marketing and promotion of albums. Enforce copyright laws Conduct scouting and development of artists Maintain contracts with recording artists and their managers. Production- editing, song writing, recording of instruments and voice, concept (bought by record label). Distribution- where to sell the song/album, finding someone to sell it Marketing- tours, viral marketing Vertically integrated record labels do all of this. 4 major record labels: Warner Bros, Universal, EMI and Sony (all are vertically integrated)  They are parent companies of smaller labels- conglomerate (parent company).
